In 2006 Dick had a busy year. He filmed a series with his family, Its not easy being green, in which they moved to a new home in Cornwall and attempted to live as green a life as possible, using renewable energy and environmentally friendly resources. A second series started in spring 2007 in a different format. Dick and his son, James, aided several members of the public in larger and smaller ecology projects around the country.

Then in 2008 the BBC requested a third series of ‘It’s not easy being green’ which saw the show change to a magazine format with lots of guest celebrities. The sustainability issues covered in the series remained fun and colourful rather than dreary and evangelical. Dick is of the strong believe that helping the environment is inextricably linked to how we spend our money. Therefore becoming intelligent consumers is a key part of going green. At his home on Newhouse Farm in Cornwall Dick runs courses on many areas of sustainable living ranging from making biodiesel to harnessing wind power. The day also includes a tour of his smallholding and a yummy seasonal lunch! For details of the courses he runs click below:
